Policies & legal

The standards
we work to

Our policies set out the standards we expect from our directors, employees, operatives, subcontractors, suppliers and others working on behalf of R&D Group.

About these summaries

They support the way we manage safety, quality, residents, information, commercial integrity, environmental responsibilities and our supply chain. R&D Group is the trading name of R & D Roofing Limited, company number 04764275.

The summaries below are provided for general information. Current controlled versions are maintained within our document-management system. Clients, auditors and other authorised parties can request copies of relevant policies and supporting procedures at any time. Some operational procedures contain commercially sensitive, security-sensitive, personal or client-specific information and may therefore be provided only where appropriate.

Company policies

Governance, safety and responsible business

Health & SafetyOur Health & Safety Policy defines the organisation, responsibilities and arrangements through which we manage risk to employees, subcontractors, residents, clients and members of the public.
QualityWe review requirements before work starts, use competent people and approved products, control delivery, retain objective evidence, inspect completed work, correct defects and continually improve our quality-management arrangements.
Environmental ManagementWe manage waste, pollution, materials, fuel, environmental incidents and supply-chain environmental responsibilities through documented controls, monitoring and improvement arrangements.
Fairness, Inclusion & Respect /
Equality, Diversity & Inclusion
We are committed to fair treatment, inclusion, dignity and equal opportunity across employment, our supply chain and the services we deliver. We also consider accessible communication and reasonable adjustments where appropriate.
Anti-Bribery & CorruptionR&D Group has zero tolerance for bribery, corruption, fraud, malpractice, cartel conduct and other anti-competitive behaviour. Work, contracts, tenders, payments and commercial advantage must be obtained honestly, independently and through fair competition.
Anti-Slavery &
Human Trafficking
We take a risk-based approach to labour exploitation and modern slavery across our workforce and supply chain, including supplier due diligence, labour-source checks, contractual controls, reporting routes and escalation of concerns.
SafeguardingWe maintain safeguarding arrangements for work in occupied homes and other environments where children, adults at risk or vulnerable residents may be present. Safeguarding concerns are escalated separately from routine complaints and must not be delayed where someone may be at risk.
Data Protection & PrivacyWe process personal information lawfully, fairly, transparently and securely, with controls covering residents, clients, employees, applicants, subcontractors, photographs, vehicle and location information, complaints, claims and website enquiries.
Whistleblowing /
Speak Up
Employees, workers, subcontractors and others can raise genuine concerns about wrongdoing, including safety, fraud, bribery, building safety, environmental harm, safeguarding, modern slavery or other serious non-compliance. Concerns may be escalated outside the normal management line where necessary.
Fraud PreventionWe operate controls intended to prevent dishonest claims, false records, manipulated pricing, misuse of company or client resources, payment fraud and other forms of economic crime. Commercial pressure never justifies false or misleading information.
Complaints HandlingWe record, investigate and respond to complaints fairly and use complaints, defects and feedback as part of our continual-improvement process. Client-specific complaint procedures and contractual timescales are followed where they apply.
Building Safety & ComplianceOur management system includes controls for Building Regulations, building safety, competence, dutyholder responsibilities, product compliance, change control, Golden Thread information and escalation of safety-critical concerns.
Social Value & ESGEnvironmental, social and governance commitments are managed alongside our social-value activities, including local employment, training, apprenticeships, responsible procurement and community impact.
Request a policy

To request a controlled copy of a policy or supporting procedure, email contact@rdgroup.uk with the policy or subject area required.

Where the request relates to a contract, tender, audit or pre-qualification exercise, please include the relevant organisation, contract or tender reference so that we can provide the appropriate current documentation.

Complaints, concerns & safeguarding

If something has gone wrong, tell us

We want the opportunity to put things right. If you are unhappy with our work, conduct, communication or service, contact us as soon as possible.

Telephone

0161 399 3071

Email

contact@rdgroup.uk

Where possible, include the property address, job or works-order reference, what happened, when it happened, any relevant photographs or correspondence, and what you would like us to do.

What happens next

Recorded, allocated, investigated

We will record the matter, allocate it to an appropriate person, investigate it proportionately and keep you informed. Where we are working under a client's own complaints procedure, housing-management process or insurance arrangement, that contractual process and its timescales may also apply.

Safeguarding concerns

Mark it SAFEGUARDING CONCERN

If you are concerned about the welfare or safety of a child, adult at risk or vulnerable resident in connection with our work, contact us immediately and clearly mark the communication SAFEGUARDING CONCERN. A safeguarding concern does not need to wait for the normal complaints process.

If somebody is in immediate danger, a serious crime is taking place or urgent emergency assistance is required, call 999 first.

Speak up

Reporting serious wrongdoing

A complaint about our service is different from a concern that serious wrongdoing may be taking place.

R&D Group's Whistleblowing Policy provides routes for raising concerns relating to matters including fraud, theft, bribery, serious health and safety failures, environmental harm, building-safety failures, modern slavery, safeguarding, deliberate falsification or concealment of information, and retaliation against somebody who has raised a concern.

You do not need to investigate a matter yourself or prove wrongdoing before raising a genuine concern.

Concerns can be sent to contact@rdgroup.uk marked Private & Confidential – Whistleblowing, or raised through an appropriate senior member of R&D Group. Where the normal internal route is implicated or is not reasonably safe, our controlled Whistleblowing Policy provides alternative escalation routes.
