Who we are

One contractor for the whole building

R&D Group has its roots in roofing, and that specialist expertise remains an important part of what we do. Today, our capability extends across the whole property, delivering responsive repairs, planned works and reinstatement both inside and out. From kitchens, bathrooms, windows and doors to brickwork, damp and mould, heating, electrics and roofing.

For clients managing homes and property portfolios, that means a simpler approach: one contractor, one point of contact and one consistent set of standards and procedures across multiple trades.

Occupied property

Work carried out around people

Homes with residents in them, wards with patients on them, schools mid-term. We plan access, protection and vulnerable-person arrangements before anyone books a date.

Evidence

Photographed, priced, recorded

Photographic progress and completion records, transparent quotations, and variations agreed and documented before the work is carried out.

Two speeds

Reactive and planned, same team

An emergency repair this afternoon and a multi-property renewals programme next year, run by the same directly employed people and the same procedures.

Where we started

Built on roofing. Now working across the whole building.

Roofing is where R&D Group began, and decades of experience working on some of the most exposed and technically demanding parts of a building still shape how we work today.

It taught us to diagnose the cause rather than simply treat the symptom, to manage risk around occupied properties, to work safely at height and to deliver repairs that stand up to weather, use and time.

Roofing remains one of our core disciplines, covering pitched and flat roofs, responsive repairs, planned renewals, full replacements, leadwork, roofline works and condition surveys, including drone-assisted inspections.

But it is now one part of a much wider service. The same practical approach, technical oversight and focus on durable repairs runs through everything R&D Group delivers — from external fabric and structural repairs to kitchens, bathrooms, damp and mould, mechanical and electrical works and full property refurbishment.

For portfolio clients, that means roofing expertise when it is needed, backed by a contractor capable of looking after the rest of the building too.
