Safety, quality & compliance

How we
control the work

Working on occupied property means the paperwork matters as much as the workmanship. This is what sits behind every job we do.

Newly decked flat roof with scaffold and handrail around the full perimeter before work starts
At height
Room with the floor fully sheeted and the wall newly finished, protection laid before work begins
In occupied property
Test meter and faceplates laid out on a worktop during electrical testing and certification
Evidenced

Edge protection before anyone goes up, protection down before the first tool comes out, and the work tested and recorded before it is signed off. More photographs from live sites are in the gallery.

Health & safety

Working at height, around people

Much of our work is carried out at height, or inside buildings people are living and working in. Everything else follows from taking that seriously.

Planning

Method statements & risk assessments

Task-specific RAMS produced before work starts, from a maintained method-statement register covering the range of works we carry out.

Access

Safe access & scaffold

Scaffold, tower and safe-access arrangements planned as part of the job, not improvised on the morning.

Competency

Role-based training

A maintained competency matrix covering working at height, asbestos awareness, manual handling, abrasive wheels, first aid, fire safety, PASMA and trade qualifications — recorded by role, and refreshed as certificates fall due.

Training is role-dependent and recorded individually. We don't claim every operative holds every qualification — we can evidence the competency of the people assigned to your contract.

Residents & occupiers

Someone lives here

The difference between a good contractor and a bad one, on this kind of work, is almost never the workmanship. It's what happens around it.

  • Notification before works, and confirmed appointments
  • Vulnerable-person procedures where a household needs them
  • Identification carried and shown at the door
  • Property protected, and cleared down at the end of each day
  • Safeguarding awareness and a route to report a concern
  • A named contact for the duration of the works
  • Complaints acknowledged and answered, not deflected
  • Photographic record of condition before and after

DutyholdersCoordination with your appointed dutyholders and verification of the competency of the people carrying out the work.
